Meet Avvy, Our New 8(a) Joint Venture

It’s no secret that reaching target audiences, providing in-demand services and establishing a strong voice are key ingredients for success. But how do you turn your vision into reality?

This is where we can help. Our new joint venture, Avvy Insights, brings decades of experience in project management, research, marketing and creative design to power your goals and achieve your small business needs.

Meet Avvy

Avvy, an 8(a)-certified minority-owned small business, is a joint venture partnership between Arillic and The District Communications Group.

What started as a friendship turned into a professional team as both of our companies shared the same mission: to empower diverse communities through impactful communication and outreach.

Why Avvy? The name Avvy, inspired by one of our founder’s nicknames and a playful nod to the word “savvy,” embodies the spirit of innovation and determination — both of which we use to deliver exceptional results.

Together, we leverage our experience working with federal and state agencies, nonprofits, associations, and the health care, insurance, IT and technology industries to get the ‘why’ behind every project’s challenge and find innovative solutions.

We fuse research and evidence-based solutions with leading-edge creative designs to develop comprehensive communications products and strategies, including:

  • Website development and design
  • Research
  • Marketing and strategic communications
  • Creative design
  • Events and experiences
  • Program management and staffing
  • Training services
  • Programming, IT and cybersecurity

Why Work With an 8(a) Joint Venture?

The U.S. Small Business Administration’s 8(a) Business Development program helps socially and economically disadvantaged small business owners by pairing them with more experienced organizations — this provides the training and technical assistance needed to strengthen their ability to compete effectively in the American economy.

By working with an 8(a) business, you get the spirited determination of a small business combined with the knowledge and expertise of a larger firm.

You can also award a sole source 8(a) contract if:

  • You determine that the qualified small business is responsible.
  • The resulting contract can be awarded at a fair market price.
  • The government estimate is less than $4.5 million.

Why sole source to an 8(a)? Benefits include:

  • Achieving your small business set-aside goals
  • Applying a more simplified and quicker process for awarding contracts
  • Assuming less risk by working through the U.S. Small Business Administration
